Question about spectra cord 17-May-2012 At 6:09:19 PM Mike Bee
Don't forget that when you loop a length of cord you double it's strength, so ignoring the knot, the loop of cord threaded through the hex would be good for 2 x 13.5 = 27kN. Even if the knot halved the strength of the cord, it'd still be good for 13.5kN, which is far more than you'd be wanting to experience on a fall.

So in answer to your questions, "yes, the cord would be suitable", and "it doesn't matter as long as it's tied so it won't fail".
