Dear Gentlefolk of chockstone I have two questions for you all...
Question #1: Anyone know how the wooden edgeboards cope with being hung outdoors?
Question #2: Anyone got thoughts on what is the prettiest edgeboard on the market at the moment. If it isn't one of the wooden ones (see Q#1 above) I'd like one that matches a merbau deck and ironbark pergola.

My Metolius wooden hang board is very nice. The Beastmakers are probably even nicer. I am sure you could stain it any color you want.

I would love to be able to travel over 20 years back in time and sit around a campfire with you at Araps or Moonarie and tell you how in 2010 you won't be chatting to climbers around a campfire, but instead you will be chatting to them on your computer and asking what edgeboard best compliments your deck and pergola.
I'm sorry I can't answer your question as my edgeboard hangs in my lounge and compliments my feature wall (poppy orange) and my mahogony stereo sound system.

The beastmakers are very nice. A few options as well. Theres the 1000 series which is a bit more user friendly, then the 2000 series which is... well "futuristic" to say the least. I don't think it would a be a problem to hang outside, so long as its out of the weather.

'Scandinavian oil' treatment will preserve it, & enhance the natural wood texture/appearance without being greasy. It worked on the long boats the vikings used,... and those blokes were hard as-
