Note left at Pines - Mountain Hardware Tent/Gear

I was pretty disturbed late yesterday reading on the Pines noticeboard that someone had "lost" their entire tent and camping equipment from the Pines yesterday Sunday 29 August. If I understand the notice correctly then the individual returned to camp to discover that someone had intentionally or unintentionally removed their tent and camping equipment. From memory the tent was described as a Mountain Hardware coloured orange and grey. If you were part of a group up there on the weekend and bundled this gear into the back of your car then please be aware that someone is looking for it. The details are on the noticeboard.

How does one unintentionally pack up someone else's campsite? Freak nasty that's a low blow....

Strangely true, but that's what happened. It was my tent & gear that mysteriously vanished into thin air yesterday prompting much speculation. Fortunately a got a call halfway back to Melbourne to say someone had accidentally packed up my gear earlier in the day, then returned to the campsite and realised the mistake (haven't quite got all the finer details of how it actually all happened). It's now with a friend wending it's way back to Melbourne tonight.

If anybodies up at The Pines and sees the note still on the notice board, I would be grateful if you could chuck it in bin. Don't want to create a wave of mass paranoia about Tent Rustling.

All's well that end's well. Dang nabbit, and I had just sharpened my lynching fork!

I posted because I wasn't sure if the tent's owner was a Chocky regular.

I was all stoked for a good old fashioned lynching too! Just like the old days: who cares if you get the right guy, as long as someone gets got!!!

It's a cunning ruse by NickH to get you all to put the pitchforks away. Expect to see said tent for sale tomorrow... ;-)

Now it sounds like the note has been stolen! Lynching back on folks! Unless egosan can provide a reasonable explanation, I reckon that we should start with him.
