First Crossings was aired last night on SBS. It retraced the way some of the peaks in New Zealand were climbed. Well worth the watch.

Hope to see something similar from Australia

Lots of stuff filmed on the grand plateau rather than on the Graham Saddle route if I remember the features correctly. Not a big deal as basing at Plateau Hut would make filming of all the fiddly bits logistically simpler, but amusing to pick what is on route and what is not. I was amazed to see that the De La Beche bivvy rock is still there, I thought it would have fallen into the glacier by now. I remember the moraine wall getting up to it (in 1975) as fairly insecure.
