hi everyone! i just got here and am staying with my sister's family near manly. i've been climbing for four
years, can sport lead up to 24 and boulder v5's. i'm dying to get out and
climb (brought shoes, chalk, harness and bouldering pad) but don't have a car or know anyone who climbs.
i'd love to meet other climbers and be introduced to aussi climbing. i'm so glad i found this forum and to
know that there are plentyof passionate climbers here like myself.

Welcome to Australia Anna.
Sydney is home/close to, a lot of excellent climbing and I doubt you will have problems finding partners up that way.
This site is Victorian based so its a little further afield, but not to worry.
Here are a few other links for you to follow up if required;

Simey, context is a wonderful thing. you can compare her profile statement to her post and meditate well
upon them to receive your answer, grasshopper ;^)

jonesing is a drug term, as in hanging out for it.

Thanks Boared.

But I am shocked. Any reference to drugs on this site should be removed by the moderators immediately.

Just what did you think it might mean Simey? Hmmm?

jonesing doesn't have to specifically refer to drugs; i guess it's just a figure of speech not used here....but
to help anyone understand, climbing is like a drug and i'm withdrawing from not having climbed for the
past month.

I've gotta admit that my first thought when I saw the heading was that it referred to yourself climbing in Utah.

Anyway, given that you live in Sydney I think you should be the one showing Miss Anna around just in case you plan a climbing trip to Utah in the future.

Well I think you should hook up with Jonesy in Sydney, then you could really be jonesing it up big time.

And if you ever make it to Arapiles, I'll put you in touch with Dave Jones and you can be jonesing it down here as well.

If I wasn in New Zealand at the moment I be happy to show you around, but in my absence your best bet is the Rockhouse in Brookvale. The regulars are very friendly and the staff have all the best beta for the area (being locals). Any bus that goes up Pittwater Rd from Manly Wharf will get you to Warringah Mall and its about a 2 minute walk from there. Youĺl find yourself a partner no worries.

(Disclaimer: no, I don't work there, but it is my local gym)

PM = Personal Message - somewhere on top of your chockstone page is a green message that says
"you have 1 un-read PM". Click on that link and read the message!
