Around next weekend I am looking to get to Newnes if possible. I do not drive or have a car and as such seek a lift. I only need a drop off. I can chip in in anyway you want. I will have one bag. Thanks. Dave

So I get the 'deliverance' bit and it sounds interesting . .
But is it in one of the units or do we share the bag?
What colour and how big is it?
Will you be taking protection?

The ride from Bell station and down the Old Coach Rd would be reasonable if you're planning to spend some time there, unless a bike would be in the way afterwards. I haven't done it as such, but I've done all the bits (I think!) and it's either a fireroad cruise or some really fun riding. Probably not too much harder from Liffgow out the same way, or even just through Wolgan gap.

Your question over at the other Bushwalking forum is only going to get responses such as 'the Pipeline Track to Glen Davis is now off limits due to (new) property owner relinquishing access'.
I have walked Newnes to various fire trails off the Putty Rd with my LandCare group.. AFAIK, there are no breaks in the cliffline on the N side of the Wolgan River that one can ascend. My more experienced companions have never mentioned it was doable either.
I was surprised to see your question - I got the impression from other posts you may have known that the canyons are not reversable. By way of example, the 'new' canyon called Exit Canyon has a 42m abseil, or so it is said over at the OzCanyons Yahoo chat page thingy.
To your Q here at Chocky, the Lithgow Tourism Office may help. Or maybe a ranger from NPWS needs help in the Wolgan with a project? An ad on Gumtree?
If you are just wanting to do 'something' in wilderness, I am going out for a few days in mid-June to ascend an un-named mountain/ridge before rapping back through a broad slot/chimney to camp on a Colo River beach. You (or anybody else capable) would be welcome. I already have gear stashed there, incl. an 80m static.

Thanks all. I am just after a ride to Newnes to go for a wander, a paddle and a fish.
Grant thanks for the offer but Bell is option 6. Full Bell creek into the Gambee isnt so enticing at this time of year even with the good weather.
Wollemi one of my options is to cross the plateau from Rocky Creek/Wolgan junction to The Capertee River. I am looking for an easier rather than harder way.
Your jaunt sounds pretty good. Can you post or PM me any more details?
