Hey John, there's a (still small) chance I could make it back up for next Thurs/Fri. I've got stuff on early in the week, and on Wed. How'd you go on the Great Shark Hunt? Would need to back by Sat though.

He got 8/10^ths up it and fell after mis-trying a sequence he thought he had sorted. After hanging for a bit he revised this sequence, but the sun getting on the route during his recovery time cut short having a second attempt on that occasion.

I believe he went down again early this morning, and I would be super-surprised if he doesn't get it this time. It will be his fourth (fifth?) day on the route, and done without taping up for any of his shots at it. The granite seems particularly coarse on it, so the fact his hands are in great shape is remarkable.

All up it is very impressive, and his ascent (when done), will be the third, of the hardest trad crack climb in Australia.

ok, I'll try. It's gonna be up to 40deg in NE Vic all week according to the forecasts... I know it's in the shade most of the day; but still bloody hot. I'll send you an email as to if I can get out of here... I'm not coming all that way just to belay you on the GSH though - so make sure you've ticked it !! :-)

ill be living in Nagambie, about 2 hrs away from bright from about the 14th Feb till the end of May. Will have my van and my wall gear so will be keen for some missions from then! will be a weekend warrior tho, as im jumping out of planes all week!!

Hey if anyone is still interested in climbing Ozy I will be there from Thursday 6th Feb till 11th or 12th. So basically if anyone is up next weekend and wants to climb Ozy in a day in any fashion(free/aid) I would be very keen. I tried it with Goshen when it was mid 30s on Thursday and had a decent redpoint shot but waaaay to hot. Next shot for sure!

Thanks Rod and Andrew for belays on Shark Hunt. Im going back in a couple days and will send. Oh yeah! Anyone keen for shark hunt is more than welcome Thursday/Friday or I can leave gear/fixed rope through weekend.
