Hey guys my name is Chris Jenkins I am from Orlando Florida and am a huge climber I am in the country for a year for work and climbing. I figured I would post something on here to see if anyone wanted to climb around here or knew where too and could help introduce me to the area. I just wanna climb bottom line and enjoy my year over here so I can go back and tell everyone about the people and the climbing stories. Feel free to email me at wavesur7@hotmail.com or find me on facebook. Look forward to hearing from the local climbers.

Once you get down to araps then there will be plenty of climbers that you can climb with.

If you want to get in touch with the Bendigo climbing scene drop by Rock Hardware run by Steve Morris. He is super friendly, climbs and knows other climbers around Bendigo. There is also the Bendigo outdoor-ed University which surely has a few climbers.

This is probably oldish information but check it out:

Hey there "huge climber from america". One thing some of you Americans could learn is a bit of humility. Can I suggest that you refer to your country as either "the USA" or "The States"? There are, after all, about 30 other countries in America.
I hope you enjoy your stay Downunder.
Cheers
Doug

To wavesur, unfortunately you will find a lot of old (even young) grumpy men on this website. I no longer live in Victoria but would have been happy to climb with an American (whichever part of America, North America or South America that they are from). Good luck. Hopefully your first impression of Australian climbers isn't a lasting one.

Downunder where? I have no idea how many countries there are "down under", especially if you mean down under the equator... which is what I assume you mean...

Note the capital "D" above. That marks the distinction between other countries "down under" The Equator and Australia. FYI, you might also like to see this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equator for the difference between an equator and The Equator.

I don't even know where this is going but anyway, typically "America" refers to the USA, while "Americas" refers to the two continents. So no, there aren't 30 countries in "America". Also, I don't really know why you posted a link to what "the equator" is versus what "an equator" is.
In the same way people know what "downunder" refers to, many people know what "america" refers to. So stop being a pedantic twat with double standards :-)

Good on yer Douggy - tell'im where its at.

While your at it why don't you give those poncy European climbers a dish. They all sound the same...personally can't tell my Kraut from my Frog with all the f'kers coming over here at the same time.

I'm also sick of Qweenslanders passing themselves off as Australian: any place where the different types of Bundy on tap outnumber the beers is wrong and aint part of my country.

Same goes for Tas-fkng-wegians whose only true claim to fame is genocide.

Come to think of it the fking Vics take themselves soo fking seriously I'm embarrassed for you. Scary thing is the NSW folk who used to be so chilled have caught the bug and are now just as embarrassing as the vics.

WA, NT, ACT and SA - don't feel left out, once I achieve Douggy's level of Nirvanic vitreol I'll hate you all just the same.
