Hi,

on behalf of Kevin, Jarrod and myself I'd like to promote in a preemptive strike that we're well along with the development of a new "Best of Victoria" rock climbing guide.

Right now we've got through more than half the topos, maps, artwork etc and are looking for the following if anyone is keen to contribute:

good quotes from well known climbers on the best routes they've enjoyed while climbing in Victoria

Great action photos

people who are interested in proof reading our topos and text.

Anyone with experience in GPS data transfer (we want to make available on our website a file containing a bunch of GPS coordinates for camp sites, cliff locations and also where to park your car so you know you're basically in the right spot!).

FYI it will be A5 format, full colour and have lovely artwork that's easy to read (colour coded like this: Green = 1-17, blue = 18-21, red = 22-24, black 25+), about 400-500 pages, RRP for somewhere in the $60-70 region (depending on page count) and some fantastic maps and brand new, never seen before aerial photos which will make it a breeze to find some of these hard to find cliffs! There will be a lot of fantastic new Grampians cliffs which will be included along with many classics at Arapiles and Buffalo. We'll be making various references to existing on-line guides for areas that are still very good but don't quite make the cut. We're also putting in GPS tags so if you're lucky enough to own a GPS that if you're coming from interstate or overseas - you can put it to good use, and avoid the age old directions arguments with your partner!!! We'll also be publishing some stand alone downloads for some areas on our website which we hope to tie in nicely with the print guide.

This also a good time to say a huge thank you to all of those who have kindly contributed much of their time, photos and various contributions to date - you know who you are. We're not too far away from the end!
