Has anyone actually done any climbing in the Basque country? I am aware that there are a number of
climbing areas around Donostia and have found quite a bit of info on the net. I'm just wondering if anyone
has actually climbed there and has some first hand info. I'm going on Wednesday for a couple of years
so should have time to look around.
Thanks

We didn't do any climbing when we were there but there are local guidebooks you can purchase from the outdoor shops (on the other side of the canal) which are full of awesome looking (and some very difficult!) routes.
While you're there make sure you do some of the ridge walks in the surrounding mountains, simply stunning and the last stronghold of the endangered Leonardo's Vulture.
The surfing there's pretty good too if you get a good swell.

It's pretty awesome isn't it. I used to live in Pamplona but I'm really looking forward to being in Donostia.
I've been there a few times but never lived there. Tapas, surf, climbing, mountains, great wine. The only
downside is the beer isn't that great but it's a small price to pay.
