iris moree park climbing plz help i just started |

wanting to know what climbing gear is needed to safely climb iris moree park
just need to know the standard gear for it,
and if anyone else knows any awesome spots in port stevens and newcastle nsw area's plz let us know,
and looking for low grade climbs with big/large holds to help train on thnx

Sounds like what you need is someone who knows what they are doing to show you what to do safely if you are asking questions like that.
Go to the uni climbing gym or the new gym when its open and start talking to people.
You can very safely top rope at Iris Moore from glued in bolts, but you need to know how to set an equalised anchor, belay safely and use appropriate ropes. Climbing forums arent really the place to learn practical stuff, though reading a getting started book and then putting things into practice helps . There are lots of easy climbing options at Port Stephens/ Watagans and central coast. Iris Moore only has a couple of routes under grade 20 though

What?
widewetandslippery and others have taught me heaps of practical stuff since I started frequenting this site!
~> eg, if we ever climb together, I now know to buy you your own bottle of wild turkey, or at least put chalk marks on mine!
