These mistakes will be corrected in the next edition, probably in three to five years time.
We aim for perfection and absolute accuracy but certainly don't guarantee it, hence the big fat disclaimer at the front of this book -- and every other modern guidebook. Especially when dealing with an area as vast as the Blue Mountains and the best part of 3000 routes, I think people need to realise that some information may be missing (lost to time, unavailable, etc) or inaccurate for a whole host of reasons. I would hope people don't expect absolute accuracy, I'd be worried they might switch off their brains -- a recipe for disaster.
I just re-read the Hotel California description, it says "take about 16 brackets". Perhaps it's more of an inconsistency than a mistake anyway.
Several of us have put in a huge amount of work to improve the quality of information in this guidebook. It's the forth Blue Mtns guidebook I've worked on and with every new edition I've seen very significant improvements in the extent of the info, the detail in the descriptions, and the accuracy of the information. So far I'm surprised there haven't more more corrections, I'm sure there will be, and that's one reason the book references a web address for people who are interested in updates.
