Hi, Wondering if anybody out there within the Greater Sydney region would be willing to lend ( or make available cheaply) a monitor colour calibrator aka colourimeter such as a Spyder, Colormunki or i1Display ?
Since restarting climbing I had looked for my old climbing photos for almost 2 years and was beginning to resign myself to the likelihood of their having gone west when they surfaced around Xmas time. I spent a month or so then scanning almost all of them. About 400 B&W negs and similar number of colour transparencies. The colour trannies were all scanned to Raw.
I now need to spend weeks photo editing to bring out their full potential. Setting white and black points, colour temperature, playing with histograms/curves, levelling wonky horizons, brushing out dust spots, artistic cropping etc.
The content covers the years 1975-1984, with lots of FAs/FFAs of 1st of grade (or early) for South Aust (grades 22-26) , Victoria (and Australia when we're talking Araps) (grades 24-27) and even Queensland (Chris Shepherd trying to pip Carrigan by a few weeks for the FFA of Brown Corduroy Trousers 28).
Climbers featuring frequently, include Kim Carrigan, Mark Moorhead, Louise, Lincoln & Chris Shepherd, Malcolm (HB) Matheson, Mike Law, Col Reece, 2 guys who were hanging around at the time called something like Glempest & Klindorf plus the odd shot of overseas visitors like "Hot" Henry Barber, Tobin Sorensen & John Allen, Mike Graham, Evelyn Lees, Dave Fearnley, Nick Plishko etc.
