There is no point opposing this economic enterprize ...

Word on the street is that the ' spirit of place ' of the Organ Pipes was progressively trashed, thru out the 1990s, when migrant sport climbers established, and then encouraged , the practice of insensitive near-crack bolting , in the name of ' modernising ' the ignorant, sleepy Hobart locals ...

Just think of all the grouse climbing shots that will be enabled from the lift !!!

BRING IT ON !!!

:D

The $31 million proposal by engineer Tim Burbury drew heavy criticism from the community because the cable line was to run up the city-facing side of the mountain, past the Organ Pipes, causing many to fear the most iconic face of the mountain would be spoiled...'

Doesn't matter ... macro = micro ... the sport climbers have already spoiled the place on a micro scale ...

Just as the road scar across the face of the mountain has long faded , so too the chair lift / cable car will blend in and become a much loved part of the Mount Wellington experience ... just like all those lovely shiny u-bolts that glint in the sun on a sunny day ...
