A respected collegue has requested that I make my review of Hertzogs movie (see DVD reviews) - SCREAM OF STONE - available under general discussion.
I must agree with him. It is with great sadness that I contemplate the fact that most here are not nor ever will be aware of the cinematic grandeur of which we, the humble climbing community, are a part.
God Bless Donald Sutherland.
ps make sure you are stoned when you watch this movie. It will help ease the pain.

Even Herzog distances himself from the movie,

Herzog, who usually writes his own screenplays, believes that the script was weak, especially the dialogue, and says that he does not consider Scream of Stone to be his film.

The choice of a button up overcoat to keep out the cold in Patagonia is one of the great decisions of all
time.
The Cinematographer that filmed “Scream of Stone” was Fulvio Marinai, who also did a documentary of
Marco Pedrini soloing the bolt route on Cerro Torre. I would love to get my hands on that one, it is
supposed to be excellent.
