Today marks the day when the first copies of CRUX #7 have begun filtering out to the far reaches of Australia (and overseas). Subscribers and our wonderful contributors (over 75 of them!) should receive their mags today or tomorrow. All shops should have them in stock by the end of the week. If you are not already a subscriber then consider signing up today – the first 10 subscribers get a free 2009 Onsight World Climbing Calendar ($20 worth). Sweet!
Content in this issue includes… World Youth Championships 2008, Vietnamese Delights, The Dirty Bolt Files by Mike Law, Koh Tao Thailand, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra Bouldering, Tassie Ice Climbing, New Fiction by Cameron O’Neill, Men’s Fashion by Josh Caple, 10 pages of photos, columns on training, injurys and food plus the usual assortment of other stuff. 80 glorious pages of glossy colour.
Some of you may have noticed that it has been quite a few months between issues - don’t be alarmed! CRUX isn’t about to disappear. We were just taking our usual third of a year break between issues, which is the reason we only publish three issues a year! Since all who work on the mag are doing it for free we need some time off to maintain a normal life and actually go climbing.
The next issue (#8!) is due to be finished at the end of the year. We’d love your help again with articles and photos, or just some feedback on how we can improve the magazine.
The deadline for contributions to our next issue is only six weeks away, November 25th 2008.
Stuff we’d love to receive for our next issue is – in-depth researched editorial articles about people or past climbing history, bouldering beta sequences, artwork, cartoons, crosswords, crazy photos and local news from your area. Let us know what is happening in your part of the world!
CRUX is now based wholly in New South Wales, with design and distribution centralized in the Blue Mountains. More climbing and more magazine fun is the aim.
Thanks for your support!

Some of the pricing looks a little odd on the subscription page. $31.90 for a 3 issue subscription in AU but $25.00 overseas?

Good one Neil. I think the mag once again looks sweet and is chock-full of great content. Congratulations to the many contributors for a great job, Neil for putting it all together, and designer Dan for giving it that extra care and a special touch. Love your humour Josh!
I'd like to thank the band of merry workers who helped with packaging all the shop orders on the weekend. It definitely made fun work of a big job. All the shop orders are in today's mail and all the subscribers copies were sent in last Fridays mail. In addition to all the CRUX mags, today we also sent out all the shop orders of my World Climbing Calendar 2009. If you have trouble getting hold of CRUX's or calendars then you can just email me with any distribution queries and I'll try to help, or just mail order them from here. This is also were you subscribe to CRUX (there are a few subscription options depending on if it is for Australian or overseas delivery and if you want your subscription to start from the current issue or the next issue).
Cheers.

It's probably not immediately obvious (sorry) but the difference is that the Australian price includes postage but the overseas option does not include postage - it instead gets added later (and varies depending where in the world it's being sent to). Don't worry, it definitely works out much cheaper for Australian delivery.

No Rod, less Victorians. We all know the best aussie workers are new aussies, like NM.

Well done team, great issue!
My one complaint is the photoshop work on the fashion spread, the boulderers fingernail is flippen missing. I mean, come on guys, that's just a lazy rushed job.
Whoops. :P
Actually, my second complaint is the sub editor. Who is it? They obviously aren't doing their job, my grammar is TERRIBLE!

Got my contributor copy over night. Stoked to find it in the letterbox as I didn't realise it was coming. I really like the layout/graphics, so thanks to who ever put that together.

How many hours (possibly minutes) before the mag was due at the printers did you deliver your article Josh?

Hey that's a bit uncalled for. I mean when you call some one a doodle face your talking some serious slander.
Lunchtime mission to 'the strip' for a copy today hopefully.
