Hey Rod you are allowed to "bush camp" in zillions of places. From the Grampians visitor guide http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources05/05_1411.pdf

"Bush camping in the park (away from designated camp areas)

Bush camping is permitted in some areas of the park. No camping is permitted in the Wonderland Range, the watershed of Lake Wartook, Victoria Valley and areas shown on the accompanying map and as indicated by No Camping Signs.

Please follow these guidelines and regulations to minimise your impact on the environment:
* no campfires - fuel stove only
* camp at least 20 metres from any stream
* camp at least 1km from designated campgrounds and 50 metres from any sealed road
* pitch your tent in a natural clearing and avoid River Red Gums - their limbs can drop without warning
* use a chemical toilet or bury human waste at least 100 metres from any stream - or take out with you
* please take your rubbish home with you"

My main request of Tracey/Parks is: please DON'T publicise bush camping anymore than they already are. The punters have plenty of publicised options, the fantastic secluded peaceful bush sites are there to be found by whoever sniffs them out but would be ruined if they got invaded by the hordes.
