september for around 5 days. we wanted to catch public transport but we can get only as far as
horsham. iv been told therre is a local bus to natimuk from horsham but i cant find a timetable anywere.
and from natimuk to horsham there is nothing. can anyone give us some helpful hints, pre planned trips,
timetables. anything! anyone done this before? help some keen teenage climbers out, its the climbing

I've done this a few times but my info is *centuries* out of date so be warned. At the same time,
things don't change that fast in those parts so it could be 100%. As long as your bus/train doesn't
arrive at midnight (as mine did once) you'll be OK. I had to spend 8 hours trying to sleep on a bench
with utes doing blockies with their spotlights focussed on me for kicks.

There is a bus leaving from horsham to nati/pines from the corner of the main drag and the street the
supermarket (not the safeway the other one). I think there is a bakery on that corner now. The
timetable of the bus i seem to recall fits in with the pensioner wanting to do a morning shop...so in
early and out by 1.30pm.

Honestly if i were you I would head to that corner (so you had a last resort) and just try to hitch to
araps...climbers are pretty easy to spot.

For a long time here has been a bus to Nati & Araps leaving from the Roberts St. bus station in Horsham at 2pm. I assume it's still running, but a local would know. Costs about $6 from memory.

From the bus stop next to the public toilets, just off firebrace st, Start walking south down firecrace st. Turn right at the Natimuk Rd(other wise known as Willson St, other wiese known as the wimmera highway, other wise known as the C240.) intersection. And Start walking west. Make sure you have few carabiners showing. And someone will pick you up and probobly take you to the mount. And take you shopping and show you a few really cracking climbs and probobly allow you to use their shower and..... oh you get it.

I've picked up lots of people who do that. And done it a few times myself. Usually after a few drinks in the White Hart hotel. Although cheaper drinks are available at the Pre-mix king, get your new found driving friend take you there and to get you some beer.

Don't know about the price but the bus from Horsham to Arapiles runs every weekday as above. It's not a Vline service so you won't find it on their site. Take it. It's easier than hitching.

Oh, come on Keiren. Pick em up and show them some nice routes. Better still, don't you have a spare bungalow out on Lake Ave?, with a swimming pool? and ensuite?

Would Allan would mind house guests?
