Just recently moved to far East Gippsland and desperately need to find some rock. Can anyone tell me some good spots. I know there is some climbing to be done around Little River Gorge and the Deddick Valley but anyone has any other ideas can you please let me know.

Get the Eastern Victoria guidebook. It records everything known about darkest Gippsland, the tall tales and true, the undergraded and overgraded, the choss and the classics. The only problem is not enough people have climbed there to tell the good from the bad and the ugly. When you do get out onto the cliffs give us some feedback that can be incorporated into the next edition of the guide.

MItchell River has some really good sandstone single pitch routes in a nice river side setting. A few newer bolted climbs lurk on the crags as well which are not in the current guide.

The New edition of the Eastern Victorian Climbing guide is worth a look for Climbs in East Gippsland. There are some places not in the book. Climba in EGnot as good as the traditional climbing areas.

G'day EJ, if there are areas not in the guide it's probably because no one has written them up and submitted them to either the VCC or to Rock.
If you have some info on these areas that are not in the guide, eg access and route descriptions send them to me and I'll include them on the next version of the guide. If you don't have exact details then send me what you have and I'll add it to the Rumours chapter at the back of the guide.
Lots of people have climbed in the Gippsland area and never wrote stuff up, or if they did it was extremely lacking in detail, all feedback and info is appreciated.
In fact, the above applies to all guides, they all need feedback to keep them relevant. Preferably both to Chockstone and Argus (argus@vicclimb.org.au)
