Wow, thread explosion.

I’m not surprised that Pebbles has chosen to be anonymous – the personal attacks on this thread are getting nasty – lighten up people.

His (her?) concerns are valid but have largely been addressed already – hidden amongst some petty vendettas.

Style of first ascent? – this is none of our business, it’s the finished product that counts. Most first ascents involve extensive jiggery pokery.

Squeezed in nature of climb? – yes it’s squeezed in. This is a problem for some people but not others. Pebbles has a right to state an opinion here. Whatever your opinion on this however, we don’t really have a problem with most of Taipan – it has large areas of blankness and is unlikely to be grid bolted. I am happy with this project and look forward to trying it when it is completed.
