Carrot is a great name!
you can't register a .com.au domain without exclusively associating it with an ABN so options would be:
carrotmag.org.au
carrotmag.com
I love .com's they're simple and cheap, so:
CarrotMag.com, Australia's online climbing zine. Booya!

.com can fail to come up in search engines when you tick australian sites.

I think the .org .com issue needs to be discussed further too, as raised in the previous thread.
And I know ezine is a generic name but I think it sounds poxy. I prefer e-mag or just online magazine to describe what it is. No big deal though...

it might not need a dedicated site to begin with. can just piggy back on another site for a little while until more is known?
on the ezine front. yeah it sounds pox. digital mag etc sound better

Why not just call it a magazine. Why bother with the whole E thing...

I'm starting to like the Carrot name more... but...
Whether it’s called Carrot or Carrot Mag or whatever, when it comes to the domain name Carrot is a good URL wheras Carrotmag is not as good, for a whole bunch of reasons, not only because it is shorter.
I checked and carrot.org.au is available apparently, so I reckon go for that if the Carrot wins the day…

Semi-unrelated question:
Do Australian websites have to be ".com.au" why not just ".au"
In Canada websites are just ".ca"; in Italy ".it" (eg yahoo.ca; google.ca). The .com bit seems to be a waste of letters if you're going to have a ".au" after it.

The new magazine editor might feel they have been sandbagged into this project!

Yeah Johan, Spoogarama over Carrot for sure. The only good thing about carrots is watching Euors trying to figure out what to do with bolt plates.
Sand Bag is pretty good as well.
