SATURDAY 11TH JUNE AT 10AM. MEET WASH TROUGH PINES CAMPGROUND
(UPDATE - SEE THIRD POST FOR 2018 REVEGETATION DAY)
It's taken a while and much is still in the pipeline, but thanks to VCC member Ollie Sherlock, we have some plants ready to hit the ground. Callitris glaucophylla. Sourced from seed from the Plaque area, Ollie has lovingly grown these little babies. Like all kids, at some point it's time to leave home and that time has now come. We are spreading the love a bit. Most will end up in the Pines campground, a couple at the back of D Minor Pinnacle, one at Muldoon where previously lived a Callitris and the rest will take residence in the newly rehabilitated area near the Pharos Gully Tourist Track. The latter area will be planted next week by the Natimuk Bush Kinder and helpers. What I am needing is some volunteers to help out this Saturday at 10am in the Pines Campground. This is not an all day job in fact if we have a decent number it shouldn't take long at all.

We will be meeting at 10am at the wash trough in the lower Pines area. Just bring yourself and wear closed toe shoes. Most tools will be supplied but if you have any mallets or the like to hammer in the tree guard posts, that would be great. Tasks will be assigned. Some might dig and others might mallet the spikes and tree guards. If you are able to let me know if you are able to help out that would be awesome. Otherwise rock up. cliffcare@vicclimb.org.au

Cheers, Tracey

And it's on again. This Saturday 10th June. Queens Birthday Weekend. Forget about Easter being the pilgrimage. This QB weekend planting fest is the one to plan for.

We're meeting at the wash trough at the Pines campground at 9am to plant 100 plants. 100! Once again, lovingly grown by Ollie Sherlock from seed collected at the mount and supplemented with some extras from the local nursery.
Callitris rhomboidea
Callitris glaucophylla,
Eucalyptus leucoxylon
Casuarinas are A.verticillata

Acacia rupicola -rock wattle
Hop bush
Golden wattle
Acacia caamafolia (Wallowa Wattle)

Majority will be going in the Pines Campground but we do have some extra areas around the park, even including Mitre carpark area, that we will be planting them in.

Don't miss out. It's not on again until next year.
Drop me a line if you can otherwise see you there.

What the....? A year already! The Annual Queens Birthday Planting event at Mt Arapiles is only 10 days away. You've done it before and you know it's a good time to be had. Playing in the dirt, building mud castles, sprinkling mulch and easing those baby trees into the ground. It's like a big love fest for future greenery. Get loved up and roll on up.

There is also a VCC club trip happening to coincide with it.
