Goatfest 2016 - Climbing debate

For this year's Goatfest we are throwing around the idea of including a climbing debate. For those of you who don't know what a climbing debate is then copy and paste this link...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxTUYiT-0IQ

Or if you just want to watch an expert in action then fast forward to 9:43.

Unfortunately a lot of the debaters in the video are not available to ply their skills at this years Goatfest, so the call is on for anyone else who would like to participate.

The subject to be debated is, 'Has climbing lost the spirit of adventure?'

Entertaining the audience is probably more important than debating the subject, although there should be some vague link to the subject matter.

I will put up my hand to be a participant (I haven't picked a side as yet). If anyone else is interested, then PM me.

I might be, I mean a friend of mine might be interested ...
Seriously, I do have Friends ...
I've even sort of got a goat at the moment as well ...

PS my friend just needs to make sure the climate control system in the conference centre is up to standards and that a suitable double decaf chai macchiato will be available. He's heard its quite remote down at The Natimuk, hence the lack of any good sport climbing ...

What a dumb debate question. The only people that think climbing has lost its adventure have lost their adventure.

Much better question is: "Life in rural victoria - wife swapping or crystal meth: what relieves the boredom better?"

Why are you posing that as an either or question Jayford?

So Stugang, are you going to grace us with your presence at this years Goatfest debate? I'm sure you can work your new question into your argument.

So Macca, are you heading down this way and willing to show off your debating skills once again? Show Ado that getting dumped from the team after a 'Best On Ground' performance was the worst decision his selection committee ever made.

Well like his climbing Stu was only any good after prior rehearsal. The Goatfest debate might be pushing his onsight ability a bit too much... Stu won't want to relive his Lois Lane experience.

What about you Dan? Are you willing to step up to the big stage?
