Hi, I know this has been asked many times before and I've even responded to this question myself. I usually use IHI Bupa but when reviewing their current policy I noticed an "exception to cover" for "search and rescue services".
I'm fairly sure they used to cover S&R. BMC and NZAC only cover residents of the respective countries and AAC(uk) only cover up to 6000m. Does anyone know of an insurance policy that covers mountaineers for medical insurance, search and rescue, and repatriation without restrictions on location, routes/grades, or altitude?

We joined the British chapter of the Austrian Alpine Club when we went to Europe last year. Definitely covers S&R costs. Was quite reasonable too.

The AAC prices are very reasonable but they only cover up to 6000m. I'm going to Peru so lots of objectives over 6000m.

The problem with Insure4less is the list of restrictions and exclusions which rule out climbing in the mountains of South America and require that "All climbs are to be on previously graded and approved routes only".

Who's the next to be cut down by neald with feeble attempts to answer his question....
